Toyota is Recalling Certain 2010 Tundra Trucks – Due to Crash Risk
March 16, 2010
Toyota Motor Corp. has announced a recall of certain model year 2010 Tundra trucks, with four wheel drive. According to the automaker there is a possibility that an improper weld exists at the union of the propeller shaft and yoke. Due to this weld, this joint may separate and the separated shaft may come into contact with the road surface. This may result in a loss of vehicle control, and increasing the risk of a crash.
Toyota dealerships will replace this front propeller shaft free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin during March 2010. Owners can contact Toyota Motor Corp. at 1-800-331-4331.
Toyota owners can also contact National Highway Traffic Safety (NHTS) safety administration’s vehicle recall safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or click here to go to the website.
