Lexus 2010 HS 250h Vehicle Recall (ABS Software Problem)
Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc, announced a voluntary safety recall on approximately 14,500 Lexus 2010 HS 250h vehicles to update software in the vehicle’s anti-lock brake system (ABS). The ABS system prevents wheel lock-up by automatically modulating the brake pressure during an emergency stop. By preventing the wheels from locking, it enables the driver to maintain steering control and to stop in the shortest possible distance under most conditions. Some 2010 HS 250h owners have reported experiencing inconsistent brake feel during slow and steady application of brakes on rough or slick road surfaces when the ABS is activated in an effort to maintain tire traction. This faulty software can potentially lead to serious injuries or fatalities, due to the loss of braking control in the 2010 Lexus HS 250h Vehicles.
